Earlier this year, I believed I was at my breaking point. I was on the edge of making choices that were not in my best interest. After praying about it, I decided to seek help from experts. I called several people I found by doing internet searches. Still, I felt uncomfortable speaking with them, let alone confiding in them. My sister had given me a handwritten note some time ago that contained a list of the therapists. I never called any of them but kept the index close to me in my office as a break-the-glass in case of an emergency option. This was an emergency, so I called the people on the list. One by one, I hit voicemail or no answer at all. And then, I came across Dr. Cecil Poe at the end of the list. By the grace of God, Dr. Poe answered on the second ring. I immediately felt that I was in the right place by the tone of his voice. He seemed pleased to interact with me. He explained his new patient intake process and directed how to get started. He followed up later that day to ensure I received what I needed. I requested a face-to-face session as a kick-off and was pleased he had no objection. Upon my first visit, I felt a good connection. I was comfortable being open and transparent about what was going on in my life. But what I liked the most was how he connected my faith to the discussion. He could flow in and out of clinical therapy to spiritual consulting with the precision of a surgeon. His observations and subsequent advice to my life's struggles were the catalysts for significant personal victories. My journey is by no means complete, but with his counseling, I now see some light where despair once lived.
I found Dr. Poe in Feb 2021 by referral and he has been my therapist ever since. Dr. Poe helped me through one of the toughest times in my life and helped me heal from a toxic and abusive marriage that I was exiting. Dr. Poe helped me to find my voice and to gain my power back. He is very attentive and cares about his clients. There was never a time I called where he didn’t answer or return my call when he could. He also performed checkin calls to see how I was doing. Hello Everyone! I want to talk briefly about how Dr. Cecil Poe has really impacted my life in a positive way. I contacted him for marriage counseling, however he guided me in so many other ways as well. You know in life everything is interconnected. Dr. Poe in so many words helped me to connect the dots from my marriage, to my spirituality, to my natural daily walk in this world, to my past experiences that have cultivated me today. Once I was able to understand and process what he was trying to teach and instill in me my life has taken off for the better. My marriage is improving, there is more peace in my marriage. Always remember God has the last say in a marriage according to Matthew 19:6. My spiritual relationship with God has increased in several ways. My daily walk with life is more positive because I am learning to live in the present moment and let God take care of my tomorrow and future days. As far as my past experiences I have realized that everything has happened to me for a reason designed by God. God created me to be more than a conqueror in and through Him and to be a walking living testimony to eventually help other women.
